Discover the hidden spots in Bruges

Bruges – better known as ‘the Venice of the North’ has a lot to offer for a city trip. Next to all of the typical tourist attractions there are also a lot of hidden spots and things to do in the city. We guide you through the city with some inside information from our hotel staff.

A walking route in Bruges you should definitely try

Discovering a city by foot is the perfect way to really get to know a city. By walking around you will bump into places you would never have found when travelling around the city with public transport. The walking route from the Davidsfonds is a real must-try.

The trail starts at the central station where you start walking towards Oostmeers and the Wevershof. Here you are entering a peaceful oasis in the busy city with beautiful whitewashed almshouses, typical of Bruges. You continue to walk along the route via the impressive garden of Gruuthuse, the market square and the Jan Van Eyckplein. Thursty from all this walking? Pay a visit to the oldest bar of Bruges: Café Vlissinghe.

Begijnhof ten Wijngaerde

You don’t pass along The Begijnhof ten Wijngaerde at your walking route but it is definitely worth a small detour. When you leave from the Minnewaterpark you can enter the Begijnhof through a small brigde & a gate. You can admire the whitewashed almshouses, a park and a beautiful Gothic church. For a moment you may think you are in a fairtytale and not in Bruges anymore.
