Minnewaterpark Brugge

Parks in Bruges

The parks in Bruges are great for spending a sunny afternoon or bringing off some energy before bed. Minnewaterpark is an iconic landmark of the city and has been the inspiration for many romantic poems and stories. Its prime location south of the city centre has plenty of space to run around and has beautiful views of lakes, water and castles. It’s a great spot for a family stroll, a picnic or a bike ride. The playground in the Astridpark is the most centrally located and has the largest playground in Bruges, which is nicely designed with wooden elements. Use your imagination and spend the afternoon playing games and running around the parks of Bruges, enjoying the space and freedom on your vacation.

De Toverplaneet Indoor Playground

While we do hope for good weather all year round, we can never be guaranteed it won’t rain, even in summer! De Toverplaneet indoor playground is a great alternative to a park, especially when the weather does not respect our plans. There is a space theme, and the floor plan is huge, accommodating plenty of children at the same time so it’s never very crowded. Magic Planet offers a wide range of activities and attractions to explore, including a climbing wall, slides, and interactive games. There are also reading areas and a party room where children can celebrate birthdays. It’s about 25 minutes walk from the centre of the city or a short trip on the number 25 bus.

Tandem Biking in Bruges

Biking is a great activity in Bruges and an easy way to get around quickly and easily with children. Save the complaints of tiredness and sore legs from your little ones by renting a cargo bike, a novel way of touring the city and a great way to exercise. If your children are old enough, rent a tandem so you can get twice the power with half of the effort. See the sights and sounds of Bruges and the surrounding areas biking around the city on a self-guided tour or by joining a bike tour. Get out of the city and explore St Anne’s Quarter, St Giles’ District and West Bruges District or go further afield to the less frequented Bruges woods and Wetlands.
